Ornaments and figures, the finishing touch to your interior
When we talk about a successful interior, it is far from just about the chosen colours or furniture. In most cases, the extra points are handed out at the measure, when the last items have been given their place and all the finishing touches have been added.
Ornaments are the perfect accessories for putting those final dots. Because they only serve to look good, they add tremendous decorative value to your interior. The nice thing about ornaments is also that you can go in all directions with them.
There are very playful figures, but also abstract sculptures. For every living style, you can find ornaments that give your interior that extra touch. Or clash with it, because that can also create a beautiful effect. A sleek industrial interior with a wooden hippopotamus? You can be sure it will attract a lot of attention.
Use ornaments sparingly
Just because ornaments only have decorative value, we recommend not going overboard with them. "Less is more" applies here. If you start incorporating too many ornaments in your furnishings, they will compete with each other for attention and none of them will stand out fully.
Therefore, try to find focal points. A blank wall, an empty spot in the bookcase, the bare top of the sideboard.
What you can do is group. A collection of figurines can feel like one. This is not the case when you scatter them here and there. These don't even have to be ornaments from the same collection. Playing with colours and textures can create a playful effect.
Of course, everything depends on your decor. A lush boho or ethnic interior tolerates a multitude of ornaments compared to an industrial interior. Nevertheless, the key remains to dose.
